Testimonials

Following are just a few of the testimonials we have gotten on the Nirvana and our service. We have listed on the author's name.

"Thanks for your rapid response and thanks to Steve for forwarding my concern. I have determined that the easiest course is to buff the blemishes and not seek a hull replacement. You both are impressively responsive to your customers. Best" Early

" Even though I received the Nirvana II on 10th August I wanted to wait until I had the whole morning set aside for her maiden voyage. I am extrememly pleased with this beautiful high performance sailboat...it was even better than I expected and everything you say about her is true!

I did not have to do any of the modifications to the electronics compartment other than I did take your advice on placing a cello sponge cut to size under the area where the sail servo lines come into the compartment.

This Nirvana already has a grating so that the battery holder does not sit on the floor of the boat...the receiver is tucked away in the uppermost area of the compartment on the port side nearest to the stern. I think Megatech is taking your advice. :)

Also Megatech included a new electronics compartment hatch cover that has a raised indentation where the sail servo arm arcs in its' movement. They had a note saying that the current cover sometimes was rubbing on the servo arm and causing degraded performance and wear.

I had a most wonderful and relaxing two hours at the lake. I still don't feel I have mastered the boat by any means yet...but the Nirvana was obligingly forgiving of my beginner mistakes. Towards the end of my time with her I was doing some fairly decent upwind tacks...and boy can she book downwind with the right wind and sail trim. Zoooooommmmm.

I can't wait to do this again tomorrow...I have a weeks vacation now...and just want to thank you for your great website and all the advice that has proved so invaluable.

With gratitude" Gardner

"Thanks very much for the reply to my questions. I took the boats back to the retailer in exactly the same packaging and condition they arrived in. I am simply dealing with an unreasonable shop owner by the sounds of it. I really wish I had come to you in the first place. Unfortunately I didn't do all the right research. I'm sure the boats I bought were just from a bad batch judging by the good things you say about them.

Thanks again for your time, it's nice to get some honest feedback." Michalik

"All this to say we're now having the fun we had anticipated back last November. I think we owe you much thanks for all your efforts to support these boats. You've done an amazing job!!" Vaughn, NC

"I wanted to report that not only did I get the boat today but after myself, Megan (daughter) and Lucas (son) assembled it this evening we had a successful 1 hour cruise. Megan shared two of her Polly Pockets to go along for the ride in the cold pond near our house. The boat performed great and was a lot faster than I thought it would be. I am definitely happy with it." Bean, CO

"I have had the Nirvana II.2 version now since August of '06 and she continues to sail like a charm! We had our little troubles in the beginning but since installing your electronics upgrade and avidly reading and applying your "tricks and tips" advice I couldn't be happier with this rugged little boats performance.

My learning curve on how to best adjust the rigging for various wind conditions has come along nicely...the Nirvana is a very well balanced boat and "wants" to sail properly...you just have to learn how to tweak her to assist. :)

She is a tough little customer. I've had her out in 20mph winds and not had a problem...of course I sail her quite carefully in those conditions and when a gust comes up I will purposely steer her into luffing to ride it out...seems to work well. Then when the gust subsides back to a fast paced tack upwind...what a blast!

I have had only one rigging failure during all this time and I think that was because the knot (uphaul on the jib) was poorly tied from the factory...after re-securing with a good fishing knot she has held fast without a problem.

I feel bad for those folks who buy the boat from someone other than you and don't know about your tips and tricks advice. No way I could have kept the hatch as waterproof as I have without your sponge tricks and the clear plastic sheeting cut to size between sail/rudder servo and battery holder. Megatech should include that information with each boat they ship...especially as all those improvements can be made at the cost of only a few dollars

I am SO hooked on RC sailing. I go out for at least an hour even when the temp is only in the upper 30's! If I have a good wind I stay out even longer and come back shivering and freezing but with a smile. :)

I go out even on light wind days...I think it is important to learn how to sail in all wind conditions...on race day there is no guarantee that conditions will be "perfect" is there?

The most frustrating conditions for me are not light wind days but when the wind is just constantly variable. On my pond there are a lot of tall trees on the east and west bank and when the wind is blowing from those directions the swirls and eddies can create a real challenge. When the wind is blowing from north or south the pond is more open meadow on those shores and you get a more consistent breeze.

I do hope your efforts to sanction the Nirvana with the AMYA are coming along...she is a great boat and deserves to be in a recognized class. It is exciting to think that she will have an article in the magazine sometime in 2008...will renew my membership just for that reason alone if no other...it is a great magazine.

Ach...I'm rambling on...I have the day off today and am looking forward to some stick time at the pond...didn't mean to take up so much of your time.

As always, thanks for introducing me to such a relaxing and enjoyable hobby and happy sailing." Gardner
