Sailing Odyssey

Anyone can sail a radio-controlled sailboat ~ and have FUN! Anyone! We have done hands-on demonstrations all over the US, and know that everyone catches on in less than 5 minutes. That doesn't mean everyone is ready for the World championships, but they are having fun!! That is why model sailing is booming in America.

Until now, there has been NO comprehensive support program designed to organize and perpetuate a radio controlled model sailing club. Sure, you could read this article and that, talk to this person and that, and by in large end up just taking a whack at it. Many programs fail for some fairly easily defined and preventable reasons.

Now there is Sailing Odyssey developed by the Model Sailing Center to encourage the pastime and sport of model sailing across North America. We teach club organizers how to teach RC sailing and racing, we provide club management guidelines based on successful organizations, and we provide an ownership program focused on positive sailing experiences. It has taken ten years serving rental fleets, charter yachts, sailing schools, community sailing programs, and world class one-design model racing to develop the pieces to the pie. And now we are offering our comprehensive program to you, your community, or your club for free!

In early 2006 we began a series of "on-site" presentations of our Sailing Odyssey program. All we ask is a room to make a 1-2 hour presentation, and a place to hold hands-on sailing demonstrations for another hour or two. After our presentation, those who have attended will understand the program, the boat, and how we serve you in the future. From there it is your choice.

Since we can't be everywhere at once, we also offer phone interviews, conference calling, direct personal emailing and our website to help you understand our program. Below is our current travel schedule. If we are going to be in your area, let us know and we will schedule our full horse and pony show for you.
