HomeStay
HomeStay is the name we have given our lodging program. Yes, we have a preferred and nearby hotel for those that want to stay there, but HomeStay is our own form of personal hospitality where visitors live right in a home in our gated community with their HomeStay hosts. Our community is building out to a little over 1000 homes of which about 650 are done. The community started construction in 2006, so all these single family homes are new. We developed a HomeStay committee that matches our guests with appropriate resident volunteer hosts based on physical needs, pet tolerance, stairs, etc. And when visitors arrive, they are introduced to their HomeStay hosts who will show them to their homes. All homes are within walking distance of our sailing venue. Guests may drive in our community with either their own or a rented car as long as you have the pass we provide. We cannot accept outside pets however, and none of our residents smoke in their homes. So when you decide to join our HomeStay program, you will receive a questionnaire so that we can get you properly assigned for your visit. Note: We provide all meals except breakfast. That is something you work out with your hosts, or you go up the street 2 miles to a number of good restaurants. |
